PATAGONIA

Patagonia is one of the last great frontiers for tourism and personal adventure. They experienced the wondrous beauty of the labyrinthine Chilean fjords as they carved their way into the Darwin Mountain Range—a landscape virtually untouched since the dawn of time.

They sailed these relatively calm waters, anchoring nightly to get up close with the snow- and ice-capped Andes. The breathtaking scenery and unique wildlife captivated us, from penguins and whales to dolphins, fur seals, Andean condors, and foxes.

At almost every turn, they encountered cascading waterfalls, jumping into the dinghy to get close to million-year-old glaciers that left them feeling completely rejuvenated. The experience was like taking a huge breath of fresh air—a photographer’s nirvana! They caught King Crab, kayaked, hiked, climbed mountains, and, at times, simply relaxed.

When they woke to a glorious, sun-drenched morning in a spectacular fjord and looked at each other thinking, “Why go anywhere else?”— they often decided to stay another day.
